But that is skinned CF over plastic, not pre-preg.  ---   Purpose   We went all out on these trims to leave a lasting legacy, something we can be proud of and as a proof of concept for our other future endeavors. With that being said, long story short, we utilized cutting edge state of the art manufacturing methods and equipment and with no shortcuts taken. To make these very complexly shaped and detailed trims in full CF a reality, pre-preg/dry method is a must. These aren't your typical CF trims produced from inverted hand made fiberglass molds and vacuum bags in the garage, "sticker" type overlay trims with 3M tape, or skinned Carbon fiber layer simply laid over the original plastic trims. These are real high performance full pre-preg "dry" carbon fiber replacement trims meticulously hand crafted from an aluminum mold and completely cured under high pressure and heat in a massive autoclave throughout different stages over many hours. No original parts/plastic cores are needed or sacrificed as our whole trim is essentially a full replacement consisting of all carbon fiber, with an exception of a few critical mounting tabs made with durable nylon material and epoxied on   Click for more information How its made and advantages The original trims were 3D scanned up to 0.03-0.05mm accuracy and CADed for the best fit and accuracy possible. Next aluminum molds of each panel were made via CNC milling. Why make the mold from billet aluminum instead of fiberglass? To sum it up, carbon fiber parts are made either via "dry" or "wet" carbon. Basically the difference is in the production methods and the corresponding equipment needed/used. Aluminum molds offer significant and exclusive benefits such as the possible use of pre-pregnated carbon fiber (referred to as dry carbon production method) with optimal amounts of resin pre-infused in each layer and the required use of an autoclave for pressurized high heat curing over many stages throughout many hours. This extensive and expensive production process ensures complete curing of the part with the best quality possible to the highest of standards which cannot be matched with the lather wet carbon fiber part production method. Dry carbon method also allows for increased geometric complexity (these interior trims are quite complex in shapes, angles and not possible to make via the traditional cheaper "wet" method). Dry carbon offers desirable and unrivaled qualities such as being vastly lighter (typically 60% lighter vs wet carbon counterpart) yet significantly stronger while being much much thinner, increased uniformity, increased strength with less air pockets, unbeatable smooth surface finish with higher accuracy and precision. Dry carbon is the same tech used by F1 and hard core race teams (where teams commonly invest dozens of millions of USD worth of the best tech, design and parts into a compact race car, essentially the best of the best available), military as well as in the aerospace/satellite industries across the world. The lather choice would be wet carbon with fiberglass molds which is the common method of production for the huge majority of the carbon fiber parts on the market. Wet carbon is mostly for appearance and not for function. Results The photos and results speak for themselves. Complete replacement trims in carbon fiber molded elegantly into very complex shapes that many people thought simply weren't possible. These trims breathe beauty, classy, high end, exoticness, sportiness, faithfulness to the original design, cutting edge technology, high accuracy, high performance and simply jaw dropping amusement. These trims are as high end, lightweight and exotic as it gets. Its the first of its kind in over 30 years for the MR2 community and to note that even for many other popular car platforms including modern BMWs, Audis, Porsches, Mercedes Benz, from OE and aftermarket companies alike do not have any interior trim comparatives of this caliber, unless it is on their dedicated race cars. For comparatives, look closer to Ferrari, F1, hardcore multi 6 figure race cars, Paganis and multi million dollar hypercars. Have your friends hold the extremely lightweight pieces and watch their expression turn to awe, resemble as if they just witnessed a miracle. -As if the lightweight and strength aspect of the pieces alone when considering the actual size and dimensions of the part almost defies physics and is out of this world. Due to the high cost to stock up in bulk quantities, complexity, intensive labor, and significant time needed to produce each of these trims with the extremely limited molds we developed, only 1 of each variant is able to be produced every 1-2 days, or around 10-15 pcs a month. How It works - Lower temperatures. More horsepower. More Fun.  This dual fan shroud setup helps lower temperatures and promotes horsepower in many ways. -By introducing large amounts of cold ambient temperature air into the whole top portion of the engine bay, this helps your pre-turbo intake system (especially aftermarket intake systems with the filter simply hanging around in the engine bay) draw in much cooler air into the turbocharger right from the get go. This means your intercooler system has a much easier time, is less heatsoaked overall, and temperatures in the whole system are much cooler right from the start.  -Large proportion of air introduced from under the car at speed, side vents/side mount intercooler fan as well as heat radiating upwards from the 900-1400F exhaust manifold/190-220F motor ends up re-circulating/hanging out under the restrictive stock engine lid and has no where to go. This heat, at best is pretty warm also essentially ends up being sucked right back inside your intake system. As we all know, heat rises right? Yes, straight from your burning 250 degree valve cover into your intercooler pipes that is. Simple question. Ask yourself why your intercooler pipes and intake manifold are burning hot after driving with all this "natural air flow" going on? Shouldn't it be cool to the touch? Not quite.  -With "hot" and "cold" intercooler pipes and the intake manifold itself being made of metal and most of the plumbing (quite a bit of length and air volume there too) literally sitting 1-4 inches above the consistent 185-250 degree valve cover/400-1400 degree exhaust manifold at all times, this naturally introduces significant heat soak and unnecessary heat increases via heat radiation, especially at part throttle or idling when air is moving rather slow within the system. (Try it for yourself - Go put your hand 1-4 inches from your hot heat soaked brake rotors after a spirted drive, wave your hand around close to it and see if the air gets any cooler? You'll see it doesn't. Scared of getting burned? Thats essentially the same kind of unnecessary heat your baked, hot intercooler pipes radiates off when air is moving through inside regardless of speed. That kind of warm/hot air temperatures will definitely rob horsepower.  -These two 12" fans will literally have both your intercooler pipes as well as complete top half of your intake manifold much cooler and cold to the touch (Instead of being too hot to touch safely) during your whole drive. We guarantee it. Touch it. Try it yourself. If you have a top mounted a2a ic, this will make it much cooler also. By having cold pipes you can touch, this helps your intercooler core "literally chill around" as it does not have to battle unnecessary heat in the system, helping it stay cooler all the time and ready to go at a moments notice. By also having a cold pipe and top half of the intake manifold that is actually cold to the touch, the warmer air inside will get chilled as well. Thats right, your intercooler will be chillin (see here), and warmer air coming out the intercooler after it does its cooling, while inside the cool pipes/intake manifold will be cooled a bit more before making its final entry into your cylinders instead of being warmed back up otherwise without our dual fan shroud. Talk about an easy smooth chill journey. Cooler temperatures = more power, less knock, pining and more fun. We all know that. Heat soaking is a thing of the past. Say thank you to fast recovery time!  With all that being said, many customers are seeing a 30-40 degree difference in their intake air temperatures inside the intake manifold with our fan shrouds installed on their drives. We all know how hard our cars pull on a 45 degree night vs a 95 degree day on the first pull, before it falls flat on its face after the 3rd pull without our fan shroud. The huge horsepower difference is undeniable, that is because we are losing 20-70+ horsepower due to temperatures alone and the ECU having to resort to safer timing values/maps for your car to run safely. The end result with these installed is MORE HP and MORE FUN throughout your whole drive. Guaranteed. Pro tip - Pair the dual fan shroud with our 9" extreme 800+ CFM spal intercooler core fan (see here) for the ultimate experience. If you are using a cheap 9" or even worse a 200-300 CFM 7", please strongly consider. Note - Please buy 2 dedicated wiring kits if you are upgrading to SPAL IC fan + dual fan shroud setup Features: Lower Air Temperatures and increases horsepower - Contrary to popular belief the mr2 engine bay and its "natural air from under the car and through the engine lid vents" is not efficient in cooling necessary components at all, if anything, it heat soaks components. With both fans on, BLOWING INTO the engine bay, we and other customers noticed side mounted intercooler core/air intake charge temperatures dropping 20-40 degrees F. Additionally, intake manifold, IC pipes, intake, and top mounted intercoolers temperatures, side mounted intercooler temperatures all dropped significantly. Pulling air upwards, DOES NOT WORK. You're forcing radiated heat soaked air from under your hot valve cover/other engine components into your pipes. The air will have to travel past multiple hot objects first, absorb nearby heat, then pass the pipes before reaching the fans. By brute forcing huge amounts of CLEAN ambient temperature air into the engine bay at such close proximity interrupts the process of heat rising into the pipes from hot exhaust manifold/valve cover and will actually cool the pipes and everything near by down significantly better, not the other way around. Our carbon fiber wing setup on the stock trunk lid can support over 250lbs of downforce with ease. Significant improvements and the result is a high quality and premium carbon fiber piece. A totally different level and quality pipe dubbed Version 2. See details below. PURPOSE Ever wondered why most turbocharged cars would pull hardest on the first pull of the drive and quickly fall flat on its face afterwards after the 3rd pull? With more heat in the intercooler system, the less power an engine can crank out as it has to keep itself from knocking and detonating. With our Carbon Fiber Intercooler pipes and feedback from our users, we are currently seeing an average of 20-30F maximum increase over ambient as well as faster temperature recovery times, on the race track or on the streets with or without traffic! A Game Changer Intake Air Temperatures with Stainless steel/Aluminum pipes can exceed 130-165F after 3 to 6 pulls on an upgraded side mounted intercooler setup. 165F is ridiculous considering modern high performance cars are only about 10-30F above ambient. Fortunately for this application, our real world testing has shown that these pipes reach up to 30 degrees above ambient on the track or on the street. This is made possible because Carbon Fiber features 10 to 40x lower heat thermal transfer conductivity values than Aluminum and Stainless steel material respectively. This means, it’s an excellent insulator, like styrofoam and silicone. (Touch styrofoam and silicone, they have a hard time reaching any sort of significant temperatures)   Exhaust manifold temperatures can reach up to 1200F with your valve cover temperature itself hovering around 185-260F+. According to thermodynamic principles, a metal piece will become equilibrium in temperature with its surroundings very quickly. The metal piece would also absorb outside radiated heat and also radiate it within the pipe since air charge temps are cooler inside the pipe than the metal heat soaked piece. Ever wondered why Koenigsegg uses Carbon Fiber intake manifolds and intercooler pipes on their most exotic and highest performing cars?  Ever wondered why engineering marvel and high performing Buggatti Chiron, a car that Shattered land speed record with 305 Miles Per Hour, a 3 Million Dollar+ Supercar chooses to use carbon fiber for their intercooler pipes and intake manifolds?  Considering their vast budget available and being owned by Volkswagon (One of the biggest car groups around), out of all the materials available at their disposal and under a strict "motor/car cannot fail during extreme fully continuous use" mindset, they chose to design their pipes out of Carbon Fiber. By investing in many new molds to create rubber inflatable cores to use during pipe production, we were able to eliminate the use of generic bagging material which does not produce smooth surfaces when twisted, leaving high and low spots throughout the insides of the pipe. By utilizing new rubber inflatable cores that are pre-shaped exactly as our pipes instead of using generic bagging material ensures inside surfaces are smooth during curing and that the pipe has consistent pressure throughout every inch of the curing process. Whether by datalogging with your ECU/sensors or physically with your hand by touching the pipe with the car running, the difference in temperatures is obvious and immediate.  Intercooler Core Advantages These intercooler cores are commonly used by many mr2 shops/vendors throughout the years. However, fitment, performance, quality, design details and how they're made are different and ours stand out from the rest.  After dealing with QC issues with ACS motorsports (IC core supplier which also supplies our competition...) rendering our newest IC core batch unusable which took 8 months to make, in February 2022, we have decided to CAD everything and to create/design our own intercooler cores. An universal MR2 intercooler core with detailed specifications, utilizing the biggest core possible, with consistency and quality in mind and made using the best manufacturing/design and quality control methods available at our disposal through our vetted manufactures Our aluminum end tanks will be casted from a mold for repeatability and consistency. We will be using the widest and largest intercooler core on the market coming in at 200mm width x 235mm length x 100mm thick. We have also shortened the inlet and outlet diameter lengths of the end tanks by around 10mm to account for a rare minority of 3SGTEs running into issues with the turbocharger being shifted very slightly from normal positions, resulting in the hot pipe being shifted away from the turbocharger outlet with no room for adjustment as the pipe touched the end tank's inlet inside the silicone hose coupler. Now there is significantly more room for adjustments. This advantage is exclusive to MR2Heaven cores only Better fitment and more adjustability/flexibility with intercooler pipes over other cores and more. That means our core will install cleaner and easier, and your pipes wont be forced to hit or rub against your X-brace, look off when connected to your turbocharger or hot pipe rubbing cold pipe etc. Often times, to be real, the fitment issues will prevent pipes to be even installed for a small majority of 3SGTE owners (around 10%, as their turbo outlet position sits slightly off normal positions). For those owners to install, they need a very tall silicone coupler that allows enough flex/room for the hot pipe to connect. That small 10% will be eliminated with our 2022 cores as they provide more room for you to adjust Our intercooler core will be fitted in molds before all the components are welded to ensure consistency and quality control We've also adjusted tolerances of our red and yellow mounting brackets to stick out past the 100mm thick core by 1.5mm only. This ensures the intercooler core is in its intended place while in the car and does not cause fitment issues like the bullet points above. Some manufactures randomly bend aluminum tabs and randomly weld them and they're extremely off.  Our core mounting brackets were designed/reduced down to 2 repeatable dimension specific parts with simplicity in mind (As you can see the red and yellow brackets in our pictures).  Our cores will be shipped in a foam padded enclosure to ensure it does not get damaged during transit   Intercooler Kit Advantages Largest 9" Fan and lightweight aluminum shroud system (The biggest you can mount on this core to help maximize cooling! It gets better.  Our 9" shroud design is backwards compatible with SPAL branded fans for the highest flow if needed. We are also the only MR2 company to offer SPAL fans with our products as of Feb 8, 2022 (the date i am writing this). From our own testing, our 12V/31AMP SPAL 9" fan upgrade flows around 40% more air than the budget common 9" fan out on the market (which we also offer as default option). They're virtually almost identical but SPAL is higher quality in everyway, designed and built heavy duty (4oz heavier, coming in at 2lbs 4oz) and sports a much powerful motor. To properly utilize the full potential of your SPAL fan, we recommend using our dedicated wiring harness to properly power it. SPAL truly makes the best fans money can buy and we highly recommend it SPAL branded fans are used on NASCAR, modern supercars, as well as many other high end automotive racing organizations/manufactures. Their motors are fully sealed, dust proof and water proof. Individually balanced for long life and high performance. Our default 9" fan is not a slacker and is also commonly used. it features the same high efficiency straight blade 9" fan design for maximum air flow just like SPAL - Also from our testing, more RPM & air flow than the curved blades variant of the common budget fans out there during our testing 3D Scanned intercooler core and computer aided design (CAD) block off plate and fan shroud helps divert proper and maximum air flow into the intercooler core from the side vent! No more misfits and inefficient designs. This allows us to create components for our kit that fits exactly as designed utilizing every millimeter surface area of the intercooler core. We used the best quality of light weight materials. There is no gaps and holes and blocking of the actual intercooler core like some kits out on the market which were designed out of guessing and tracing cardboard templates. We used a $20k 3D Scanner to aid our design process. High Quality Constant Torque hose clamps ensures constant torque and helps prevent annoying popped hoses when compared to other clamps on the market. Significant improvements and the result is a high quality and premium carbon fiber piece. A totally different level and quality pipe dubbed Version 2. See details below. PURPOSE Ever wondered why most turbocharged cars would pull hardest on the first pull of the drive and quickly fall flat on its face afterwards after the 3rd pull? With more heat in the intercooler system, the less power an engine can crank out as it has to keep itself from knocking and detonating. With our Carbon Fiber Intercooler pipes and feedback from our users, we are currently seeing an average of 20-30F maximum increase over ambient as well as faster temperature recovery times, on the race track or on the streets with or without traffic! A Game Changer Intake Air Temperatures with Stainless steel/Aluminum pipes can exceed 130-165F after 3 to 6 pulls on an upgraded side mounted intercooler setup. 165F is ridiculous considering modern high performance cars are only about 10-30F above ambient. Fortunately for this application, our real world testing has shown that these pipes reach up to 30 degrees above ambient on the track or on the street. This is made possible because Carbon Fiber features 10 to 40x lower heat thermal transfer conductivity values than Aluminum and Stainless steel material respectively. This means, it’s an excellent insulator, like styrofoam and silicone. (Touch styrofoam and silicone, they have a hard time reaching any sort of significant temperatures)   Exhaust manifold temperatures can reach up to 1200F with your valve cover temperature itself hovering around 185-260F+. According to thermodynamic principles, a metal piece will become equilibrium in temperature with its surroundings very quickly. The metal piece would also absorb outside radiated heat and also radiate it within the pipe since air charge temps are cooler inside the pipe than the metal heat soaked piece.
