Ultimately, every side mounted IC MR2s greatly suffers from heating of intake air temperatures as that air is forced to travel through a gruesome hot and long path before it reaches our engine cylinders. This also puts unnecessary extra stress into the side mounted heat exchanger. The 2x 12" fans being literally an inch away from those various important components, forces massive amounts of cool ambient air directly to help cool everything nearby. The end result is many components in the engine bay are literally cool/cold to the touch while the motor is running, including top half of the entire intake manifold, both pipes, throttle body, your intake air filter and more. Thats a huge temperature difference, from burning hot to touch to cold to the touch. Many believe natural air cooling which goes from under the car and out of the engine lid is proper and the best method. Some cores are much smaller, many fit very poorly and¬†some wont install at all, much less work with other attached components such as¬†air block off/diverting¬†plate, fan shrouds, pipes etc. With that being said having¬†come¬†across major supply chain issues¬†as well as numerous QC problems, we were fed up and have finally decided to improve on these cores¬†by making our own for 2022+ Our aluminum end tanks¬†will be¬†casted from our exclusive molds for repeatability and consistency. All components¬†will be fitted in our exclusive jig before welding to ensure consistency and quality control We will be using the¬†widest and largest intercooler core on the market¬†coming in at 200mm width x 235mm length x 100mm thick. We have also shortened the inlet and outlet diameter lengths of the end tanks by around 10-12mm¬†to allow more room for pipes to be adjusted by using space inside the silicone coupler, as well as to account for¬†a rare minority of early 3SGTEs running into issues with the turbocharger compressor outlet being shifted very slightly from normal positions via the exhaust manifold offset positioning. Now there is significantly¬†more room within the silicone hose coupler for pipe adjustments to clear obstacles such as strut braces and other pipes.¬†This advantage is exclusive to MR2Heaven cores only We've also adjusted tolerances and positioning of our¬†red and yellow mounting¬† tabs to stick out past the 100mm thick core by 1.5mm only¬†vs 4mm+ on the generic cores, especially when they randomly¬†bend and weld tabs on (see our pictures of 3d scanned cores comparison). This also allows more room for adjustments, less gaps and better QC/consistency.¬† A total of 14-16mm more room for pipe adjustment totalfrom the 2 design changes implemented above Our mounting tabs are made of¬†thicker high quality aluminum, CNC machined (not bent like others) and will always remain in the same various locations.¬†Other cores out there, their mounting tabs literally CRACK OFF over time. To properly utilize the full potential of your SPAL fan, we recommend using our dedicated wiring harness to properly power it.¬†SPAL truly makes the¬†best fans money can buy¬†and we highly recommend it 3D Scanned intercooler core, computer aided design (CAD) block off plate and fan shroud helps divert¬†proper and maximum air flow into the intercooler core from the side vent! This allows us to create components for our kit that fits exactly as designed utilizing every millimeter of surface area from intercooler core.¬† We used the¬†best options and quality¬†of light weight materials. There is no gaps and holes and blocking of the actual intercooler core like some kits out on the market which were designed out of guessing and tracing cardboard templates. We used a $20k 3D Scanner to aid our design process. High Quality Constant Torque hose clamps ensures constant torque and helps prevent annoying popped hoses when compared to other clamps on the market. Intake Air Temperatures (IAT) with OEM or aftermarket stainless steel/Aluminum pipes on an upgraded side mounted intercooler core setup can exceed 140-145F+ after¬†3¬†to 6 pulls when ran without proper auxilary cooling and temperature alleviating modifications. This brings us to the point that not all mr2 intercooler kits perform the same. At these temperatures, one can expect engine to pull 30-70+ WHP worth of timing, enough to ruin all your fun and enjoyment. Firstly, Carbon Fiber as a material is an excellent thermal insulator against heat as it features thermal conductivity values that is 10x-40x lower than aluminum and stainless steel respectively. Why it matters? Our exhaust manifold temperatures¬†can reach 1200F+, valve cover temperatures¬†hover¬†around 185-260F+ and intake manifold/throttle body/pipes are literally too hot to touch without burning your hand. Physic states, objects will become equilibrium in temperature with its surroundings through a mixture of heat conduction and radiation. Ultimately, every side mounted IC MR2s greatly suffers from heating of intake air temperatures as that air is forced to travel through a gruesome hot and long path before it reaches our engine cylinders. This also puts unnecessary extra stress into the side mounted heat exchanger. Heat exchanger core actually sits quite some distance above the vent opening and at a large slanted angle. Imagine velocity of air flow when it has to fully twist 90 degrees twice to penetrate the core in such short distances. Not going to happen. Dual 12" Engine Lid Fan Shroud - Renders entire top end of the engine bay, including intake manifold and pipes cold/cool to the touch Third and lastly, our dual 12" engine lid fan shroud helps significantly in reducing recovery times, and temperatures around the engine bay, including the heat soaked "too hot to touch" intake manifold/throttle body/pipes. The 2x 12" fans being literally an inch away from those various important components, forces massive amounts of cool ambient air directly to help cool everything nearby. The end result is many components in the engine bay are literally cool/cold to the touch while the motor is running, including top half of the entire intake manifold, both pipes, throttle body, your intake air filter and more. Purpose Our lightweight aluminum block off plate diverts and promote maximum air flow to an aftermarket side mounted intercooler. Without this plate, air would travel past your intercooler through the many holes and cracks causing rough turbulence and inefficient air flow when the vehicle is in motion. Our biggest 9" diameter lightweight aluminum fan shroud system provides high air flow to the intercooler and thus greatly improves intercooler system efficiency. By forcing and directing more air through the intercooler core, many users are noticing significant temperature drops. Advantages There has been at least 15+ different branded generic mr2 specific intercoolers on the market all with different specifications, sizes, different fitment issues throughout the past 25 years. While we have been able to procure in the past the most consistent quality, biggest, fattest, widest, best fitting core used out of all the manufactures, we still ran into into many quality control, consistency and supply chain issues with our 2018-2021 manufacuter. Our last intercooler core batch was ordered in May 2021 still has not arrived in 2022 after 8+ months and the fitment has become unusable as they started outsourcing parts and production to other manufactures due to pandemic/supply chain issues. We waited 8+ months for a batch of cores to the point where we were out of stock ourselves for months and after seeing that the newest batch samples were unusable, we are pretty fed up.  That is why in February 2022, we have decided to CAD everything and also to create/design our own intercooler core. An universal MR2 intercooler core with detailed specifications, utilizing the biggest core possible, with consistency and quality in mind and made using the best manufacturing/design and quality control methods available at our disposal through our vetted manufactures Our intercooler cores and various related parts such as fan shrouds/block off plates are CADed with detailed specifications, ensuring proper fitment, consistency and design. Our aluminum end tanks will be casted from a mold for repeatability and consistency. We will be using the widest and largest intercooler core on the market coming in at 200mm width x 235mm length x 100mm thick. We have also shortened the inlet and outlet diameter lengths of the end tanks by 10mm to account for a rare minority of 3SGTEs running into issues with the turbocharger being shifted very slightly from normal positions, resulting in the hot pipe being shifted away from the turbocharger outlet with no room for adjustment as the pipe touched the end tank's inlet inside the silicone hose coupler. Now there is significantly more room for adjustments. Better fitment and more adjustability/flexibility with intercooler pipes over other cores and more. That means our core will install cleaner and easier, and your pipes wont be forced to hit or rub against your Xbrace, look off when connected to your turbocharger or hot pipe rubbing cold pipe etc. Often times, to be real, the fitment issues will prevent pipes to be even installed for a small majority of 3SGTE owners (around 10%, as their turbo outlet position sits slightly off normal positions). For those owners to install, they need a very tall silicone coupler that allows enough flex/room for the hot pipe to connect. That small 10% will be eliminated with our 2022 cores as they provide more room for you to adjust Our intercooler core will be fitted in molds before all the components are welded to ensure consistency and quality control We've also adjusted tolerances of our red and yellow mounting brackets to stick out past the 100mm thick core by 1.5mm only. This ensures the intercooler core is in its intended place while in the car and does not cause fitment issues like the bullet points above. Some manufactures randomly bend aluminum tabs and randomly weld them and they're very off.  Our core mounting brackets were designed/reduced down to 2 repeatable dimension specific parts with simplicity in mind (As you can see the red and yellow brackets in our pictures).  Our cores will be shipped in a foam padded enclosure to ensure it does not get damaged during transit With our attention to details and strict QC on every part through our vetted manufactures, advantages in intercooler core design as well as in our perfectly fitting block off plate and 9" fan shroud, we are confident our exclusive kit is made to the highest of standards, is the highest quality, consistency and best performing side mount system on the market today, period. We offer full intercooler kits utilizing carbon fiber or stainless steel pipes as well as many parts available for purchase seperately on our website.  Purpose (Click to expand) MR2Heaven Side Mount Intercooler cores are an essential upgrade for any 1991-1998 Turbo MR2 owner that is serious about driving hard, maintaining power, having fun or increasing power. These intercoolers allows for increased air flow, improved air temperature cooling capabilities and are commonly used in the MR2 community. As we are all aware, high air temperatures causes engine to run less timing in order to prevent pinging, knock and detonation. Less timing is less horsepower and torque. That is why most mr2s pull hardest on the first pull especially when cold, and feels increasingly slower after each and every pull. As much as 40-80 whp can be lost due to high intake air temperatures alone.  These cores work best as a system with our other components. Our customers are running slightly north of 500+ WHP without heat soaking issues on these cores when used with our 800+ CFM Spal Fan, carbon fiber intercooler pipes and 12" dual fan shroud system. At 460WHP, up to 100-105F was observed on the dyno. If running without some of the components mentioned, intake air temperatures often will reach as high as 135-145F after a few pulls.  Intercooler Core Advantages (Click to expand) Intercooler Core Advantages There has been at least 20+ different branded generic mr2 intercoolers on the market made by a dozen or more different manufactures all with different specifications, molds, jigs, blueprints, sizes, different internal cores, design, material, different QC and fitment issues throughout the past few decades. These intercooler cores are not made equally. Some cores are much smaller, many fit very poorly and some wont install at all, much less work with other attached components such as air block off/diverting plate, fan shrouds, pipes etc. With that being said having come across major supply chain issues as well as numerous QC problems, we were fed up and have finally decided to improve on these cores by making our own for 2022+ Our aluminum end tanks will be casted from our exclusive molds for repeatability and consistency. All components will be fitted in our exclusive jig before welding to ensure consistency and quality control We will be using the widest and largest intercooler core on the market coming in at 200mm width x 235mm length x 100mm thick. We have also shortened the inlet and outlet diameter lengths of the end tanks by around 10-12mm to allow more room for pipes to be adjusted by using space inside the silicone coupler, as well as to account for a rare minority of early 3SGTEs running into issues with the turbocharger compressor outlet being shifted very slightly from normal positions via the exhaust manifold offset positioning. Now there is significantly more room within the silicone hose coupler for pipe adjustments to clear obstacles such as strut braces and other pipes. This advantage is exclusive to MR2Heaven cores only We've also adjusted tolerances and positioning of our red and yellow mounting  tabs to stick out past the 100mm thick core by 1.5mm only vs 4mm+ on the generic cores, especially when they randomly bend and weld tabs on (see our pictures of 3d scanned cores comparison). This also allows more room for adjustments, less gaps and better QC/consistency.  A total of 14-16mm more room for pipe adjustment totalfrom the 2 design changes implemented above Our mounting tabs are made of thicker high quality aluminum, CNC machined (not bent like others) and will always remain in the same various locations. Other cores out there, their mounting tabs literally CRACK OFF over time. 2/25/2022 - Full Product launch with airflow CFM results Purpose You're probably here because you are after the best cooling performance and efficiency out of your intercooler setup. This fan is the largest out of everything we've ever seen. This fan is almost as big as the intercooler core itself! - Fortunately it also clears intercooler pipes! This exotic Italian made fan moves a whopping 26.8% more air than the already amazing SPAL 9" 634 CFM slim fan through brute force and around 48.45% more air than our budget default 9" default slim fan from China, which isn't a slouch either. We've never felt more cool air being rushed past the thick intercooler core fins by such brute force. The difference is night and day. We believe that due to space restraints, the common side mount aftermarket intercooler core had to be small and thick. But a thicker core definitely comes with drawbacks, such as very poor air flow throughout the cooling fins as most fans are not powerful enough to move much air through such a huge restriction. We also doubt natural air flow from MR2 being in motion is able to overcome this restriction effectively either. However, with the help of this behemoth monster of a fan forcing air through the whole core with pure brute power, heat soak is a problem of the past. One of our customers is currently tuned and pushing 500+whp on our side mounted intercooler with this fan on E85 and 460whp on 91 octane comfortably. 2.2L 5SGTE stroker, GTX3071R and our CF intercooler pipes. His intake air temperature at 460whp 91 octane was around 100-105F (Very good numbers). His tuner (Peter @ Snap Motorsports in Sacramento) did say that any more HP past 500, that it would start becoming an issue. That same core we're talking about is known to be good up to 350-380hp on weaker fans and that is already considered pushing it at around 135-150F.  To properly utilize the full potential of your SPAL fan, we recommend using our dedicated wiring harness to properly power it. Stock wiring/relay system will not be adequate. SPAL truly makes the best fans money can buy and we highly recommend it.    SPAL branded fans are used on NASCAR, modern supercars, as well as many other high end automotive racing organizations/manufactures.
