6/1/2026 - Added Slim Profile 11" Spal fan version for clearing TRD rear X Brace

7/27/2024 - CFM/Airflow/Amperage testing results added - SPAL fan upgrade outputs 48% more air flow per fan.

6/22/2024 - Product improvements - Introducing 11" SPAL Fans - Waterproof & bolts right up to fan shroud without modifications while 12" version will not.

TLDR - 7+ Years Strong. Our proven solution. A must have for MR2. Dual fans above engine alone ultimately eliminates heat soak & reduces Intake Air Temperatures by an incredible 25-50+F by rendering your intercooler pipes, intake manifold and more cold to the touch (with only default fans, not considering our more powerful SPAL variant).

The Problem

Intake Air Temperatures (IAT) with OEM or aftermarket stainless steel/Aluminum pipes on an upgraded side mounted intercooler core setup can heat soak and exceed a blistering 140-145F+ after 3 to 6 pulls when ran without proper auxiliary cooling and temperature alleviating modifications. Enough for your car to pull 30-70+ WHP worth of timing/power and fun away

Why 91-98 MR2s suffers from heat soak

Exhaust manifold temperatures can reach between 1100°F and 1800°F or more, while valve covers typically range from 185°F to 300°F. Poor design places much of the intake air pathway directly above high-heat components, where it's heavily exposed to radiant heat. This layout places excessive thermal stress on the side-mounted heat exchanger and causes the intake pipes and manifold to become dangerously hot to the touch

Secondly, through our testing, we attached numerous fans to intercooler heat exchanger core and discovered that only one intercooler fan could produce enough static pressure to push air through the 4-inch thick intercooler core. With the other fans, it was difficult to generate any airflow/pressure to even move a taped piece of paper off the core

Third, the natural airflow generated by the vehicle being in motion must make two consecutive sharp 90-degree turns before it even reaches the dense 4-inch intercooler core. By that point, the reduced air velocity/pressure is likely inadequate to fully penetrate the core

How this Dual 12" Engine Lid Fan Shroud works - Eliminates Radiation Heating, rendering entire top end of the engine bay, including intake manifold and pipes cold/cool to the touch

The 2x 12" fans being positioned literally an inch away forces massive amounts of cool ambient air to help cool everything nearby, rendering everything up top cool to the touch. The large amounts of constant cool air flow disrupts any radiation heating of the pipes from said heat sources as cool air bounces right off your valve cover. From burning hot to touch to cold/cool to the touch, even when motor is running or car driven hard.

Why blow into engine bay & not out of - Doesn't hot air travel upwards?

What actually happens is hot air from your motor and block rises and heats up your components via radiation heating. Try it yourself - If your components aren't cool to the touch after a drive, there is your answer. We found much higher temperature reductions by blowing in.

The results

Many customers are seeing a 30-50+ degree reduction in their intake air temperatures with all our fan shrouds when paired with our aftermarket side mounted intercooler setups featuring carbon fiber pipes. Some of our customers are even running as high as 520 WHP on our side mounted intercooler kits with 808 CFM high static pressure fan before reaching high intake air temperatures. Multiple 460WHP dyno pulls resulted in 100-105F IATS which is legendary on a side mounted intercooler. The end result with this fan shroud lid installed is MORE HP and FUN throughout your whole drive. Guaranteed.

Our other solutions to further lower intake temperatures - Air flow to side mounted intercooler is critical.

Features:

  • Dual fan shroud lower Air Temperatures by 20-30+F alone and increases horsepower
  • Great for top mount as well as side mounted intercoolers
  • Available in Full Carbon Fiber, Mirror Finish or in brushed raw aluminum form
  • Lightweight (CF version around 1/3 the weight of aluminum panels and 1/6 weight of steel)
  • Modern & exotic appearance
  • Premium, stylish & sleek
  • Great art canvas to start on if you're an artist - Draw on it, wrap it, paint over it, sign on it etc.
  • Cut with water, no burn or poop marks from laser cutting like others
  • Show off and compliment that precious engine bay/hard work in a classy way
  • Premium CNC cut full sized panel - Not half sized panel or hand cut like others
  • Tested and verified - A whopping peak 3300-3400 CFM of air flow. Thats about 6x the airflow of the common 9" intercooler fan we sell when strapped onto an IC core (That fan isn't a slouch either), or 4.25x our thick fat heavy duty extreme 9" HD SPAL fan

Carbon Fiber version will look great with some of many of our other Carbon Fiber offerings (CF intakes, CF Intercooler pipes, CF pre preg interior trims, CF T-Top shades, CF Wings, CF stage 2 wing, and even more in the future. Stay tuned for the releases!

Notes

  • Does not work on NA/Non turbo engine lid
  • Sold as a single panel or as a full kit with fans and hardware. Wiring is sold optionally as these fans can be wired up easily in many different ways.
  • Pair the dual fan shroud with our 9" extreme 800+ CFM high static pressure spal intercooler fan (see here) for the ultimate experience. If you are using a cheap 9" or even worse a 200-300 CFM 7", please strongly consider as air flow to the side mount heat exchanger is inadequate

  • Don't forget block off plates and intercooler core fan shroud to properly route & maximize air flow.
  • Please buy 2 dedicated wiring kits if you are upgrading to SPAL IC fan + dual fan shroud setup. OEM circuity will trip, inadequate and has huge voltage drops, reducing fan speed.

  • Raw Aluminum material in itself is a very prone to permanent finger printing/marring and easy to scratch material. It is also subjectable to water marks that may be difficult to remove once etched on.
    • Pro-Tip - Paint or wrap over aluminum surface with your desired color, picture or patterns. A simple $5 spray can will already do wonders, see pics.

Because many of our products are produced in limited quantities, popular items can sell out between production runs. With production and manufacturing lead times often ranging from 1-3+ months, unexpected demand can quickly deplete available and planned inventory, and waiting for future production runs may mean missing one—or even multiple—batches and facing a significant delay.

Pre-Orders help us accurately gauge demand and plan production quantities while allowing customers to secure their spot & receive their parts in a timely manner. This helps reduce delays and the chances of products selling out unexpectedly, while ensuring we can continue bringing more specialized products to the community.

Not all pre-orders are the same. Depending on the product, a pre-order may be for an existing product that is temporarily sold out or a new product that is still in development.

The product page will provide the most current estimated fulfillment timeline and any relevant project details.

Restock Pre-Orders — Existing Products

Many of our products are produced in limited quantities, and popular items can sell out between production runs.

If an existing product is sold out, we may open a pre-order for the next production batch. These products have already been developed and produced previously, but additional manufacturing time is required before the next batch is ready.

Pre-ordering secures your place in the next production run and ensures you don’t miss the next available batch.

Development Pre-Orders — New Products

Some pre-orders are for completely new products that are still being developed.

Developing a new product is a significant process. Depending on the complexity of the project, it may involve:

  • Product design and engineering
  • Prototyping and testing
  • Tooling and mold development
  • Fitment and quality/mold revisions
  • Manufacturing preparation
  • Final production and quality control

A single product can take 3 months to over a year to fully develop before it is ready for regular production.

During this process, prototypes, molds, fitment, or manufacturing methods may require revisions. If we identify an issue that does not meet our standards, we may need to make corrections before moving forward with production.

This can occasionally extend the estimated timeline, but we believe it is better to correct an issue before shipping rather than rush a product to customers that does not meet our standards.

We always aim to provide the best estimated timeline available at the time a pre-order is listed.

However, estimated dates are not guaranteed. Manufacturing schedules can change, and development projects may require additional time for prototyping, revisions, production, or quality control.

We do not believe in rushing production simply to meet a projected date.

Before a product ships, it must go through the appropriate manufacturing, finishing, fitment, and quality control processes to ensure it meets our standards.

If there are any significant changes to the estimated timeline, we will provide pre-order customers with updates as information becomes available.

Good products take time. We'd rather get it right than get it out fast.

Our goal is to continue supporting the MR2 community by developing new and unique products that may not otherwise exist.

Pre-orders and group buys allow us to better determine demand and commit to larger production quantities. Larger manufacturing orders can help reduce per-unit production costs, allowing us to pass a portion of those savings directly on to our customers while also helping fund the development of future products.

By participating in a pre-order, you are not only securing your product—you are also helping make new projects possible.

Depending on the project, participating in a pre-order or group buy may provide:

  • Up to 20% off or more on future regular product price
  • Priority access before regular inventory becomes available
  • The ability to secure your place in a limited production run
  • The opportunity to help bring new, community-requested products to market

Because pre-orders and group buys allow us to commit to production quantities, tooling, manufacturing, and product development, pre-order purchases are generally non-refundable once the order has been placed.

If you no longer wish to wait for your pre-order, you may have the option to convert the full amount paid into MR2 Heaven store credit, which can be applied toward MR2 Heaven-branded products.

Please note that pre-order fulfillment timelines are estimates and may change due to manufacturing, fitment, quality control, or other unforeseen development delays.

In the unlikely event that a product is ultimately unable to be produced or the project is permanently canceled, all affected pre-order customers will receive a full refund.

Thank you for supporting our projects and helping us continue to develop new products for the MR2 community.

Composite Parts: Materials, Manufacturing & Finishes

Both Dry Prepreg and Wet Layup Carbon Fiber can be finished in either Matte or Glossy.

Glossy Finish
→ Deep, reflective shine
→ Enhances the carbon weave
→ Classic high-end appearance

Matte Finish
→ Smooth, non-reflective appearance

→ Hides minor surface imperfections better

Carbon Fiber — Dry Prepreg vs. Wet Layup

All Real Carbon Fiber parts are made either via Dry or Wet production process.

Dry Prepreg Carbon Fiber delivers a higher level of performance and consistency through a more controlled manufacturing process.

Pre-impregnated carbon fiber is manufactured with precisely controlled resin content and fiber orientation, then cured under controlled temperature and pressure. This allows manufacturers to optimize the material for strength, stiffness, weight, surface finish, and dimensional consistency.

Compared to conventional wet layup carbon fiber, prepreg manufacturing offers:

More precise resin content
Better fiber-to-resin ratio
Controlled fiber orientation
Reduced risk of voids and inconsistencies
More uniform curing
Higher strength-to-weight potential
More consistent parts from piece to piece
Superior surface quality and dimensional accuracy

The Trade-Off

The primary disadvantage is cost.

Prepreg carbon fiber requires more specialized materials, equipment, tooling, and curing processes, making it significantly more expensive to manufacture.

In short:

Wet Layup
→ More affordable
→ Simpler manufacturing
→ Greater process variability

Dry Prepreg
→ Higher manufacturing cost
→ More advanced equipment and processes
→ Greater consistency and precision
→ Better potential for lightweight, high-performance construction

When performance, consistency, and weight matter most, prepreg is the premium choice.

Some of our Dry Pre-Preg carbon products include: Turbo Engine Lid, Radiator Air Diverting Panel, SW20 Complete Replacement Interior Trims, Trunk Lid, Carbon Fiber Intercooler Pipes etc)

Yes, all our fiberglass products come pre-primered and ready for painting. Simply apply an alcohol wipe and start spraying

Dry Pre-Preg Carbon Fiber (Top-Tier Option) Manufactured using aerospace-grade pre-preg carbon fiber and cured under heat & pressure in tightly controlled environments, our Dry Pre-Preg components represent the pinnacle of performance. This process achieves maximum strength, minimal weight, and exceptional precision. Some of our Dry Pre-Preg carbon products include:Turbo Engine Lid,Radiator Air Diverting Panel,SW20 Complete Replacement Interior Trims,Trunk Lid,Carbon Fiber Intercooler Pipes etc)

Fiberglass & Hybrid Options If pre-preg carbon fiber is not specifically listed on the product page, the component is produced using wet carbon fiber manufacturing process and or hybrid construction methods. Hybrid parts feature a fiberglass base reinforced with carbon fiber outer layers, with fiberglass-only versions also available. These options prioritize visual appeal while offering a more accessible price point.
